Signatures of all three Apollo 11 astronauts, nicely displayed with the signature of Barack Obama underneath a photo of the four together, taken on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing. Photo measures 16″ x 20″, matted with signatures to a size of 25.5″ x 27″. Signatures are very good to near fine. Armstrong signature is accompanied by Zarelli COA; Obama, Collins and Aldrin signatures with PSA/DNA COAs. Sold for $3,073.

United States flag flown to the moon on Apollo 11 during the historic 1969 mission. Flag is mounted to an official NASA certificate reading: ”This flag traveled to the Moon with Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing, July 20, 1969”. Certificate is signed ”Neil Armstrong”, ”Michael Collins” and ”Buzz Aldrin” in felt tip and features the Apollo 11 crew emblem. Printed along bottom edge are the words spoken by Neil Armstrong after stepping upon the moon: ”One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”. Accompanied by 84pp. copy of commemorative Newsweek magazine from 11 August 1969, featuring color photos of the moonwalk. Flag is affixed to board with the auto-penned signatures of the Apollo 11 crew and the words: ”This flag traveled to the Moon on Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing / July 20, 1969”. Flag measures 3.75” x 5.75” and board measures 8” x 10”. Near fine condition. With an LOA from Goldberg Auctions and Catherine Whipkey, whose husband Bill Whipkey worked at the Johnson Space Center. A scarce memento from the historic mission. Sold for $25,623.


President Barack Obama autograph White House leaderboard, with his handwritten picks for the 2012 NCAA men’s basketball tournament. On 13 March 2012, Obama met with ESPN reporters at the White House to fill out his bracket, choosing Kentucky, Ohio State, Missouri and North Carolina to make it to the final four; the actual four teams were Kentucky, Ohio State, Louisville and Kansas, placing Obama in the 63.6th percentile according to ESPN. Signed ”Barack Obama” at center in black ink. Large 63” x 36” leaderboard has ”Presidential Bracket” and official White House seal to bottom. In near fine condition with a strong, clear signature by Obama. Obtained directly from ESPN in its annual V Foundation auction. Sold for $20,206.

Exceptionally Rare Neil Armstrong Signed Poster, Measuring 20.25” x 27.75” — With Steve Zarelli COA
Scarce Neil Armstrong signed poster entitled ”Man on the Moon”, the famous photograph taken by Armstrong showing Buzz Aldrin on the moon with Armstrong reflected in Aldrin’s visor. Armstrong boldly signs the poster in black marker, providing a stunning presentation measuring 20.25” x 27.75”. Poster is archivally paper backed, with creasing smoothed and indiscernible closed tear repaired at top. Very good plus condition. With a COA from Steve Zarelli Space Authentication. Sold for $18,750.


Apollo 11 Crew-Signed Certificate, Also Signed by Richard Nixon — Very Rare Replica of the One Left on the Moon — With Steve Zarelli & University Archives COAs for All Signatures
Very rare certificate — a replica of the one left on the lunar surface by the Apollo 11 crew — signed by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins and President Richard Nixon. Upon the certificate, which is signed next to the mens’ printed signatures, it reads, “Here Men From the Planet Earth First Set Foot Upon The Moon July 1969, A.D. We Came In Peace For All Mankind”. Visible portion of certificate measures 8″ x 6.5″, double matted to a size of 16.5″ x 15.5″. Near fine condition. With a COA from Steve Zarelli for all three Apollo 11 signatures, and a COA from University Archives for Richard Nixon’s signature. The only such Apollo 11 item signed by both the crew and President that we have seen. Sold for $15,000.

Michael Collins signed final edition, issued before the launch on 16 July 1969 from the Kennedy Space Center, and used by Apollo 11 flight controllers and support personnel, including the 135-page section on flying to the Moon and returning to Earth. Over 320 numbered pages; 8′ x 10.5″ in the original orange card stock covers. Autograph obtained at Spacefest 2019. Sold for $14,954.

“Apollo 11 Lunar Surface Operations Plan” signed by the late Michael Collins, Apollo 11 astronaut. Original plan from 27 June 1969 is signed by Collins on the cover in blue felt-tip, “Michael Collins / Apollo XI”. Measures 8″ x 10.5″ and runs 184pp., with several fold-out diagrams. Apollo 11 crew signed lithograph measuring 20” x 16”, with bold, uninscribed autographs by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin. Photograph shows Buzz Aldrin, as captured by Neil Armstrong, placing the lunar seismometer on the moon’s surface. With ”First Man on the Moon” stamp and postal cancellations dated 20 July 1969, the day of the moon landing, and 9 September 1969, the day the stamp was issued. Very minute foxing on margin and a small bit of edgewear, overall in very good to near fine condition. One of the largest, finest Apollo 11 crew signed photos available. Sold for $10,250.

Excellent-content Barack Obama autograph letter signed on his health care legislation. On official White House stationery, undated but likely early 2010, Obama writes in full, ”Beth – I received your letter, and want you to hear back from me. We are at the brink of historic health care reform legislation that gives 30 million people coverage and curbs major insurance company abuses. There’s nothing weak about it – which is why the insurance companies are fighting it so hard. So don’t lose faith so quickly – no change happens overnight, but it is happening! Barack Obama”. Letter on cardstock measures 6.5” x 4”. In fine condition. Includes original blank White House envelope. Sold for $9,799.

Apollo 11 crew-signed ”type three” insurance cover, signed by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Apollo 11 was the first to produce insurance covers for the families of the astronauts, with three different types of which this is type three. Cover features the Apollo 11 mission insignia, postmark from Kennedy Space Center on 16 July 1969, the day of the launch, and an Apollo 8 six-cent stamp. The signatures of ”Michael Collins”, ”Neil Armstrong” and ”Buzz Aldrin” prominently appear in blue felt tip. Measures 6.5” x 3.75”. Near fine condition. Sold for $8,750.

One of the things I’m focused on is bringing back manufacturing to America. We’ve already seen the highest growth in that sector in 20 years, and we are going to keep pushing it. We’re also hoping to provide more resources to community colleges so mid-life, high-skill workers like your husband can get quick training for jobs that businesses are hiring for right now. I know that this doesn’t help your husband’s immediate need for a job, but I wanted you to know that your president hears you and is fighting for you every day. Barack Obama autograph note signed as President. Written upon official Presidential cardstock featuring a gilt Eagle encircled by 50 stars at top and embossed “The President” at bottom. In full, “Ron – I am grateful for your letter. Here’s the book back, with my signature. Best wishes, Barack Obama.” 3.5″ x 5.5″ card is in fine condition, accompanied by two White House envelopes, one postmarked 3 April 2009. Sold for $7,236.

Apollo 11 crew signed cover featuring the signatures of “Neil Armstrong”, “Buzz Aldrin” and “Michael Collins”, with the additional signature of Walter Cunningham to verso. The first men on the moon sign the front of the envelope beside their images and an illustration of the American flag as it was planted on the moon. Apollo 7 lunar module pilot Walter Cunningham is the addressee of the first day cover, postmarked 5 October 1969. Barack Obama Autograph on His Fifth Grade Punahou School in Hawaii Yearbook from 1971-2 — Signed “Barry Obama” — Perhaps The Earliest Known Barack Obama Autograph
Very rare and charming 5th grade yearbook with a President Obama autograph, or, as he called himself then, “Barry Obama.” Yearbook for the Punahou school in Hawaii for the 1971-72 school year features Obama both in the 5th grade choir as well as in “Mrs. Hefty’s” class where he and three other students carry “On Strike” and “Boys Liberation” signs to get out of homework. Surprisingly, little Barry didn’t yet take part in either organized basketball or student council. He signs on the last page in blue ink, “Barry Obama” along with his other classmates. Curiously, he is the only one, out of dozens of students, to underline his name. Yearbook is in exceptionally well-preserved condition. Binding is strong and pages are clean, except where students sign their names. A fantastic, rare piece of Presidential history. Sold for $6,555.
