George H.W. Bush check signed, made out to the Quebec-Labrador Mission Foundation for $100, notated as a Contribution. Postmarked 13 December 1972, Bush signs in full, ”George HW Bush”. Light bank cancellation and bend to lower right, otherwise near fine. Sold for $3,438.

Rare Autograph Note Signed by George W. Bush as President
President George W. Bush autograph note signed, undated but upon White House stationery. Belonging to Congressman Bill Young, handwritten note reads in full: ”My Friend / Get your ankle fixed, soon – with affection / George Bush”. Written in black felt tip pen, single page measures 7” x 10.5”. Near fine. Sold for $2,500.

George W. Bush Autograph Letter Signed as President — ”…I bet you still are a live one…”
George W. Bush autograph letter signed as President, dated 29 August 2005, shortly after Bush’s re-election. Written upon gilt-embossed Presidential stationery, Bush writes to baseball manager Bobby Bragan in full, ”Dear Bobby, Congratulations on managing again. You were a heck of a manager before, and I bet you still are a live one. Most importantly, you are a heck of a good person – All my best / George Bush”. Bragan came out of retirement in 2005 at age 87 to manage the Fort Worth Cats baseball team. Composed on both sides of 7.25” x 5” card in black felt-tip. Near fine. Sold for $2,500.

President George W. Bush typed letter signed to Congressman Bill Young shortly after taking office. Letter on White House stationery dated 5 March 2001 reads, ”…Thank you for the flag flown over the Capitol during the Inauguration. The flag’s historical significance makes it all the more meaningful. It is an honor for me to serve as President. I appreciate your support, and I look forward to working with you…[signed] George Bush”. 1pp. measures 6.75” x 8.75”. Near fine. Sold for $1,562.

George W. Bush typed letter signed as President, written on White House stationery to Congressman Bill Young on 20 July 2004. Bush designates Young as his personal representative to the Farnborough International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition and Air Show: “…the Farnborough International 2004 is a significant international event, I appreciate your taking on this important responsibility…” 1pp. signed in black felt tip pen measures 6.75″ x 8.75″. Set includes eyeglasses worn by nearly every post-WWII President, including: Harry S. Truman, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, all gifted to the Museum of Ophthalmology, and each framed in its own presentation shadowbox.

Well-worn pair of glasses have two flakes to the right lens, and both endpieces are even scarred with teethmarks by the 43rd President! Metal finish glasses measure 5.5” from endpiece to endpiece, framed with a letter signed by Bush on his Presidential letterhead on 8 May 2009, which reads in part, ”…Whether at the White House or across the globe, I used these glasses while preparing speeches, reviewing briefings, and writing letters to constituents and world leaders. I also wore these glasses while reading mysteries, biographies, and other good books. I liked to begin each day by reading the Bible, and these glasses were a crucial part of that daily ritual…” Framed in a shadowbox measuring 29.5” x 16.5” x 2.75” deep, in very good to near fine condition. Stunning and large collection of china from the George W. Bush White House, produced by Lenox. Banded in gold against a green crosshatch pattern, the design also features a gilt Eagle on most pieces. In designing this china, the Bushes were inspired by a White House sideboard once belonging to Daniel Webster, which had an eagle-designed inlay. Lot includes:
1-2) Two service plates with gilt eagle at center, surrounded by 13 gold stars signifying the original 13 colonies. Each plate measures 11.75” in diameter, with underside reading ”The White House / 2008 / Lenox / Made in U.S.A.” Near fine condition.
3-4) Two dinner plates with gilt eagle at top. Each plate measures 10.875” in diameter, with underside reading ”The White House / 2008 / Lenox / Made in U.S.A.” Near fine condition.

White House Used Telephone — With White House Label on Directory Plate
Telephone used in the White House during the Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Clinton administrations. Vintage desktop touchtone telephone unit bears a White House Centrex label on the directory plate and a label reading, ”NOT SECURE / DO NOT USE FOR / CLASSIFIED OR SENSITIVE / INFORMATION” under the receiver. Faceplate lists extension numbers for Staff Advisor, Press Advisor, Press Office, WHCA Office, Communication Center, Radio Room, and Operator. Second warning in red caps reads: ”THIS IS A NON-SECURE TELEPHONE”. Code stamped to bottom of phone indicates Western Electric model number 2500. Light wear, overall very good condition. Sold for $1,875.

Lenox China Presentation Bowl in the Millennium Style, Made for the George W. Bush White House
Unique presentation china bowl made by Lenox, in their Millennium pattern, but made expressly for the George W. Bush administration as gifts of state. Large display bowl measures 10.5” across the rim and 6.5” high with the Presidential seal at center of bowl. The underside reads, ”Presented by George W. Bush President of the United States and Mrs. Laura Bush / 2001-2008 / Lenox”. The Millennium Collection was issued by Lenox at the turn of the 21st century, with a design drawing upon the official State dinnerware of four previous Presidential administrations: Wilson, Truman, Roosevelt and Reagan. Near fine condition. Housed in original Lenox box. Sold for $1,774.

Service plate from the George W. Bush administration, made by Lenox. Design is the classic cobalt blue and gilt rimmed pattern accented by the gilt Presidential seal, used in the various White House dining rooms referred to as ”The White House Mess”. Underside of plate identifies that the plate is from the Bush administration, reading ”White House Staff Mess / 2006 / Lenox”. Plate measures 12.5” in diameter. Near fine condition. Sold for $1,344.

U.S. Vice Presidential Limousine Flag — Used in George H.W. Bush’s Motorcade
United States Vice Presidential limousine flag, used in George H.W. Bush’s motorcade. Silkscreen flag is made by Annin & Co., one of the companies contracted to make Presidential automobile flags. Measures 29” x 20.5”, with two suede inserts measuring approximately 1” inside the sleeve, used to secure the flag to its mast. Flag’s edges are fringed in blue, measuring 1.5” long. Light wear, otherwise near fine. Originally obtained from a Reagan White House employee responsible for advancing trips. Sold for $1,300.
