Beautiful Earthrise photo from Apollo 8, one of the most famous images of the Apollo missions. ”Red number” photo AS8-14-2383 is printed on fiber-based paper with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso along with NASA press blurb. Chromogenic print is encapsulated by PSA as a Type 1 photo from 1968. Measures 10” x 8”, encapsulated to 13.25” x 9.75”. Near fine condition. Sold for $21,875.

Fantastic Apollo 11 crew-signed photo, showing the Saturn V rocket lifting off into space on 16 July 1969. Boldly signed by Neil Armstrong in blue felt-tip, Buzz Aldrin in black fountain pen, and Michael Collins in black felt-tip. Without inscription. Half-glossy woven paper measures 8.5″ x 11″. Lot of 20 NASA photos from the Apollo 11, 12, Gemini 4 and 6A missions, including 18 ”red number” photos and one ”blue number” photo. Collection includes the iconic ”footprint” photo from Apollo 11, showing Buzz Aldrin’s singular bootprint in the lunar soil, as well as a view of Earth from Apollo 11. 4) ”Red number” photo AS12-46-6826 with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, showing Alan Bean deploying the ALSEP during the first EVA. This is one of the photos that oddly casts a blue glow around Bean, fueling internet conspiracy theories. Small bend to lower right corner, faint edgewear and very light particle adhesion. Very good plus condition.

5-7) Three ”red number” photos, with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, all showing Pete Conrad descending the latter of the Lunar Module during the first EVA. Photos are numbered AS12-46-6715, AS12-46-6716 and AS12-46-6717. Light particle adhesion (more so to 6717) and edgewear, else near fine.

8) ”Red number” photo AS12-47-6912 with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, showing Alan Bean conducting a lunar experiment. Faint particle adhesion and edgewear, overall near fine.

15-17) Three ”red number” photos, with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, all showing Edward White conducting the very first ”spacewalk” EVA, which lasted 23 minutes outside the spacecraft. Photos are numbered S-65-30430, S-65-30431 and S-65-30432. Minor scuffing and edgewear, in very good plus condition.

18-20) Three photos, two of them ”red number” photos, all with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, showing the Gemini 7 spacecraft, taken from Gemini 6 during rendezvous. Apollo 11 Crew Signed 20” x 16” Lithograph — Bold, Uninscribed Signatures by All Three

Apollo 11 crew signed lithograph measuring 20” x 16”, with bold, uninscribed autographs by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin. Photograph shows Buzz Aldrin, as captured by Neil Armstrong, placing the lunar seismometer on the moon’s surface. With ”First Man on the Moon” stamp and postal cancellations dated 20 July 1969, the day of the moon landing, and 9 September 1969, the day the stamp was issued. Very minute foxing on margin and a small bit of edgewear, overall in very good to near fine condition. One of the largest, finest Apollo 11 crew signed photos available. Sold for $10,250.

Exceptional Apollo 1 crew signed photo, with signatures from entire primary and first backup crew: ”Gus Grissom”, ”Ed White”, ”Roger B. Chaffee”, ”James A. McDivitt”, ”Rusty Schweickart” and ”Dave Scott” in red and black felt tip. Image captures the Apollo 1 astronauts posing in front of a model of the Command Module in their official NASA blue jump suits. Glossy photo measures 10” x 8”. Faint paperclip impression at upper right and fading to photo, while signatures remain bold and very readable. Overall in very good plus condition. Apollo 1 Crew-Signed 20” x 16” Photo — With Very Large Signatures by Edward White, Roger Chaffee and Gus Grissom

Apollo 1 crew-signed photo measuring 20” x 16”, showing Edward White spacewalking during the Gemini 4 mission. The three astronauts of the fallen Apollo 1 mission provide extraordinarily large autographs in this colorful photo, measuring approximately 6” x 3.5” as a group. Each man signs in black felt-tip, ”Edward H. White II”, ”Roger B. Chaffee” and ”Gus Grissom”. Slight buckling and wear to photo, with small abrasions and chipping to edges, able to be framed out. Overall in very good condition. A rare oversized Apollo 1 crew-signed photo. Sold for $7,500.

Glossy photo showing Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the lunar surface is signed by all three men, without inscription: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. NASA photo #69-H-1034 reads on verso, “Astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr., deploying solar wind experiment on lunar surface during the historic Apollo 11 mission. Astronaut Neil A. Gemini Autograph Collage on a 10” x 8” Photo — Signed by Neil Armstrong & 10 More Astronauts

Gemini autograph on a Gemini astronaut NASA photo collage. Paving the way for the Apollo program, Gemini missions first launched on 8 April 1964 and ended on 15 November 1966. Astronauts boldly sign their names in black, green and blue ink: ”Neil Armstrong”, ”Mike Collins”, ”Buzz Aldrin”, ”Richard Gordon”, ”Gordon Cooper”, ”James Lovell”, ”James G. McDivitt”, ”Gene Cernan”, ”Wally Schirra”, ”Charles Conrad”, ”Tom Stafford” and ”Frank Borman”. Verso includes a summary of the Gemini Program and captions for each photograph. Very minor creasing to corners, otherwise near fine condition. All signatures clean and striking.  Sold for $6,250.

Set of Two Apollo 8 Earthrise Photos — With NASA Press Release Stamp From 1968 on Verso of Each

Set of two NASA ”Earthrise” or ”Blue Marble” photos from the Apollo 8 mission, showing, for the first time, the Earth from the vantage point of the moon. Two of the most coveted photos from the Apollo space program, both photos show the purple NASA press release stamp on verso, dating the photos to 1968. Each glossy photo measures 8” x 10”. Approximate 3” surface scratch on each at left mid-center. Light creasing, overall in very good condition. Sold for $5,000.

Apollo 1 Fire Investigation Photos — Forty-One 8” x 10” Photos

Haunting series of 41 photographs, each measuring 8” x 10”, from the Apollo 1 fire investigation. Lot includes an internal letter from North American Aviation, Inc. to ”ALL SUPERVISION” giving a preliminary analysis of probable causes for the disaster. Also included is an ”Apollogram” memorandum that gives the text of North American Aviation, Inc. Vice President and Apollo Program Manager Dale D. Myers’ statement delivered to the House Subcommittee on NASA Oversight on 27 January 1967. With official information on verso of each photo. Very good condition. Sold for $3,125.

Outstanding Collection of 38 Original NASA Photos from the Apollo Program — Includes 31 Red Number Photos on ”A Kodak Paper”, 6 Black Numbered Photos & Additional Photo on ”A Kodak Paper”

Large collection of original NASA photos from the U.S. Apollo program, almost all red numbered photos on ”A Kodak Paper” or black numbered photos. Lot includes:

1-5) Five Apollo 11 photos, all red numbered with ”A Kodak Paper” on otherwise blank verso. Images include a smiling photo of Neil Armstrong, a unique view of Buzz Aldrin climbing down the LM ladder before stepping on the moon, and a view of Earth on the way to the moon. Photo numbers are: AS11-37-5528, AS11-36-5355, AS11-40-5863, AS11-40-5924 and AS11-40-5949. Overall in very good condition with some yellowing and edgewear. Notations to versos and writing on front of two.

6-15) Ten photos from Apollo 12, consisting of 1 black numbered photo (AS12-48-7023), 8 red numbered photos with ”A Kodak Paper” on otherwise blank verso and 1 photo also with ”A Kodak Paper” on verso. Red number photos are: AS12-46-6807, AS12-46-6821, AS-12-6827, AS12-47-6898, AS12-47-6937, AS12-47-6940, AS12-47-6906 and AS12-47-6929. Remaining photo is stamped AS12-47-6892 on verso. Overall in very good condition with some yellowing and edgewear. Writing on versos and label affixed to one.

16) One red numbered photo from Apollo 13, showing Jack Swigert in the Lunar Module on the trio’s journey back to Earth, with the ”Mailbox” that saved the astronaut’s lives in the background. Photo on ”A Kodak Paper” is number AS13-62-9004. Good plus condition with writing on margin, some yellowing, edgewear and discoloration to right margin.

17-32) Seventeen photos from Apollo 14, consisting of 5 black numbered photos and 11 red numbered photos with ”A Kodak Paper” on otherwise blank verso. Black number photos are: AS14-68-9460, AS14-68-9472, AS14-69-9576, AS14-69-9632 and AS14-71-9865. Red numbered photos are: AS14-66-9216, AS14-66-9226, AS14-67-9366, AS14-73-10073, AS14-73-10079, AS14-73-10117, AS14-73-10120, AS14-73-10126, AS14-73-10141, AS14-73-10193 and AS14-73-10203. 34-38) Five red numbered photos from Apollo missions 7, 9 and 10. All photos have ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on otherwise blank verso. Numbers are: AS7-03-1530, AS9-20-3064, AS9-24-3656, AS9-26A-3698A and AS10-34-5165. Notations to verso, some yellowing, writing to margin on three and minor edgewear.
