Henry Ford Signed Copy of His Autobiography, ”My Life and Work” — Without Inscription
Detroit industrialist Henry Ford signed copy of his autobiography, ”My Life and Work”. Garden City: Doubleday, Page & Co., 1925. Elegantly signed by Ford on the half-title page, ”Henry Ford” and dated ”5/26/27” without a personalized inscription. The most influential business leader of the early 20th century, Ford’s business model of democratizing car ownership for the middle class would forever shape the culture of America. Book measures 6.625” x 9.625”, custom bound in leather boards with gilt tooling on spine. Wear to leather with some cracking to backstrip. Previous owner’s signature on half-title page. Light wear to interior, overall in good plus condition. Sold for $4,185.

Thomas Edison & Henry Ford Rare Signed Photo
Thomas Edison and Henry Ford signed photo, dated 28 March 1915 via copyright marking. Photo depicts Edison posing with Henry Ford, both of whom had winter homes nearby each other in Florida. Signed along mat, “Thos A Edsion” and beside his signature, “Henry Ford” with “To Hutch” written above signatures in an unknown hand. Black and white photo measures 9.75″ x 7.5″ and is mounted to a mat to an overall size of 13″ x 11″. Near fine condition. Sold for $3,940.

Signed photo display of Henry Ford and Edsel Ford standing in front of the one millionth Ford automobile. Edsel was Henry’s only child and president of the Ford Motor Company from 1919-1943. Both men sign the matted border with full names in black ink. Comes with LOA signed by D.J. Hutchins of the Ford General Sales Department on 13 November 1934, which reads, ”…It is not a simple matter to get autographed pictures from Mr Ford and they are not passed out promiscuously, and for this reason feel that you will treasure this picture all the more”. 10” x 8” photo has become loose from mat which measures 12” x 10”. Light wear to edges and small stain on mat next to photo at upper right, but signatures are sharp and clean. Overall very good condition. Sold for $2,269.

Rare typed letter signed by Henry Ford and Edsel Ford, addressed to a Ford dealer in Providence, Rhode Island. Dated 1 August 1939 on Ford Motor Company stationery, the Fords write, ”We take this means of extending our congratulations to you as one of the dealers who delivered 100 or more new units during the month of May 1939…” At this time, Ford was heavily promoting the Mercury 8, a mid-range automobile released in November 1938 designed to fill its market void of appealing to middle class buyers emerging from the Depression. Letter measures 7.75” x 9.75”. Uniform toning and some dampstaining, but overall in good to very good condition, with the elegant signatures of Henry and Edsel Ford. Sold for $2,000.

Henry Ford typed letter signed to prolific American songwriter Carrie Jacobs-Bond. He writes here on personal letterhead dated 23 March 1936: ”I wish to thank you for the words and music of ‘In My Garden’ and ‘My Garden of Memory.’ It was indeed thoughtful of you to send these two pieces to Mrs Ford and myself and I am grateful for the courtesy…[signed] Henry Ford”. Single page measures 5.25” x 7.75”. Framed with a portrait of Ford to a size of 12” x 24”. Folds to letter, else near fine. Sold for $1,720.

Photograph signed by automobile magnate Henry Ford. Ford signs ”To Helen Hayes – from Henry Ford” to lower left of the matte photo. Measures 7” x 9.5”. Small closed tear to upper right; very good condition. From the Helen Hayes estate. Sold for $1,513.

Henry Ford Document Signed Appointing a Proxy to Vote in His Place at a Stockholders’ Meeting — With PSA/DNA COA
Henry Ford document signed. Dated 12 March 1928, partially-printed “PROXY” document is elegantly signed “Henry Ford”. The blanks are filled in by type, appointing one Thomas B. Gay to serve as proxy for Ford in a stockholder’s meeting. Measures 8″ x 6.25″. Creasing, irregular bottom edge, small tears to edges, paperclip impressions to lower left and tape to top edge of verso. Very good overall. With PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $1,325.
