Apollo 11 crew-signed ”type three” insurance cover, signed by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Apollo 11 was the first to produce insurance covers for the families of the astronauts, with three different types of which this is type three. Cover features the Apollo 11 mission insignia, postmark from Kennedy Space Center on 16 July 1969, the day of the launch, and an Apollo 8 six-cent stamp. The signatures of ”Michael Collins”, ”Neil Armstrong” and ”Buzz Aldrin” prominently appear in blue felt tip. Measures 6.5” x 3.75”. Near fine condition. Sold for $8,750.

Apollo 11 First Day Cover Boldly Signed by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins
Apollo 11 first day cover, signed by all 3 Apollo 11 astronauts: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Postmarked ”Moon Landing” from 20 July 1969, and Washington D.C. from 9 September 1969. Scott #C76 stamp is also present, depicting Armstrong lowering himself onto the moon. Measures 6.5” x 3.5”, housed in a commemorative folder with Apollo 11 medal. Near fine condition with bold signatures. Sold for $7,753.

Apollo 11 crew signed cover featuring the signatures of “Neil Armstrong”, “Buzz Aldrin” and “Michael Collins”, with the additional signature of Walter Cunningham to verso. The first men on the moon sign the front of the envelope beside their images and an illustration of the American flag as it was planted on the moon. Apollo 7 lunar module pilot Walter Cunningham is the addressee of the first day cover, postmarked 5 October 1969. His inscription to verso reads: “From my personal collection / Walter Cunningham / Apollo 7″. Measures 6.5″ x 3.75”. Near fine. A fantastic association piece. Sold for $7,199.

Cover is signed in blue felt-tip by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin next to the medal and below the postmark of 20 July 1969 from Cape Canaveral. Man on the Moon medal is number 03597, designated on verso. With COA from Steve Zarelli of Zarelli Space Authentication. Medal measures 1.5” in diameter and is made of 0.925 troy oz. silver. Neil Armstrong Signed Cover Commemorating the Apollo 11 First Lunar Orbit
Neil Armstrong signed cover. The astronaut signs, ”Neil Armstrong” to the Sarzin cover, which is printed with an image of the spacecraft hovering above the moon’s surface. The caption reads: ”Apollo 11 First Orbit / of the Moon / Lunar Orbit Injection July 19 / 1:22 pm EDT 244,930 miles from earth.” Measures 6.5” x 3.75”. Discreetly addressed in ink, else near fine. Sold for $1,875.

Fantastic photo autographed by the two Apollo 16 moonwalkers: John Young and Charlie Duke. Photo shows Young standing next to the Lunar Rover on the moon, saluting the United States flag. He writes, ”John Young / 9th man on the Moon / Apollo 16 CDR”. His lunar partner then signs, ”Hey, John, This is perfect, you, the Rover, and the old flag. Come give me a big Navy salute. / Charlie Duke / Apollo 16 Moonwalker”. Both men sign in silver felt-tip, a dramatic presentation against the black sky. Satin-finish photo measures 10” x 8”. Near fine condition. With Steve Zarelli Space Authentication COA. Sold for $4,000.

Apollo 16 American Flag Flown to the Moon — Signed by Crew-Members John Young, Thomas Mattingly and Charles Duke
Rare 6″ x 4″ American flag flown to the moon on the Apollo 16 mission, with signatures of all three crew-members: “John Young”, “Tom Mattingly” and “Charlie Duke”. Signatures and an inscription (likely by Mattingly) appear on the presentation document upon which the flag is affixed. Inscription on left reads: “Sam — Thanks for keeping our gym in such good shape. We sincerely appreciate it.” The framed NASA presentation includes a printed header reading: “This flag was carried to the moon by the crew of Apollo 16″, the nylon flag at center and official Apollo 16 insignias at bottom. Framed to an overall size of 18.5″ x 15.5”. Very faint showthrough of glue to flag’s corners, else near fine. Sold for $3,032.

Charlie Duke Signed Apollo Saturn V Rocket Model
Charlie Duke signed Saturn V rocket model, a 1:200 scale model of the rocket that transported Duke on the Apollo 16 mission. Base is boldly signed “Charlie Duke / APOLLO 16 LMP” in silver felt-tip. Measures approximately 22″ tall. Near fine condition. Sold for $1,785.

Apollo 16 Astronaut Charlie Duke Signed Command and Lunar Module Model
Charlie Duke signed Command and Lunar Module model, as it looked before the Lunar Module detached from the Command Module to land on the moon during the Apollo 16 mission, where Duke served as Lunar Module Pilot. Model is signed on its base by Duke in silver felt-tip, “Charlie Duke / Apollo 16 LMP”. Hand-painted model is scale 1/48, measuring approximately 12″ deep x 6″ wide x 14″ tall. Small indentation to the wood base near Duke’s signature, else near fine. Sold for $1,760.
