Carl Gustav Jung (/jʊŋ/ YUUNG; German: [kaʁl ˈjʊŋ]; 26 July 1875 – 6 June 1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. Jung’s work has been influential in the fields of psychiatry, anthropology, archaeology, literature, philosophy, psychology, and religious studies. Jung worked as a research scientist at the Burghölzli psychiatric hospital, in Zurich, under Eugen Bleuler. During this time, he came to the attention of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis. The two men conducted a lengthy correspondence and collaborated, for a while, on a joint vision of human psychology.

Very Rare Carl Jung Signed Photo Mat — Without Inscription
Photo mat signed by the pioneering psychoanalyst Carl Jung, without inscription. Silver gelatin photo of Jung measures 4.625″ x 6.875″, mounted to 6.5″ x 9.125″ mat, upon which Jung signs, “C.J. Jung.” in black fountain pen. Apart from Freud, Jung is arguably the most influential psychoanalyst of the 20th century, with his influence extending to literature, anthropology, religious studies and psychiatry. Some silvering and buckling to photo, and foxing to mat. Overall in very good condition with a bold signature. Sold for $1,260.
