Patrick Swayze’s Personal Copy of the Script for Ghost
Patrick Swayze’s personally owned script for “Ghost”, the highest-grossing film of 1990 that cemeted Swayze’s career as movie star after “Dirty Dancing”. According to Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi Swayze, Patrick put off reading the script for several months but was passionate about doing the movie after he read it. Script runs 129pp., identified as “Revised First Draft”, with date of 23 June 1989 on the first page; blue, pink and white pages represent revisions made on 13 July and 21 July 1989, shortly before shooting began. Blue cover shows the logo of Paramount, which produced the film, and on the spine is written “GHOST” in black marker. Measures 8.5″ x 11″. Script is missing center brad, overall very good condition with light wear. With a COA signed by Lisa Niemi Swayze, and several photos of Swayze. Sold for $3,881.

Patrick Swayze worn wardrobe from 1995 film ”Three Wishes”. Swayze starred as drifter Jack McCloud in the fantasy film. He was dressed in this outfit at the end of the movie when his cast is removed. Ensemble comprises: (1) a pair of grey-green button fly trousers by Banana Republic in size 32R and (2) a red plaid long-sleeved shirt by J. Crew in size M with burgundy panel on the back. Accompanied by sheets from the wardrobe department and 5 production used continuity Polaroids of Swayze on set, dressed in a different outfit. Near fine. With a COA from the Prop Store. Patrick Swayze Personally Owned and Worn Dance Unitard
Patrick Swayze’s personally owned unitard and dance shoes, worn by the “Dirty Dancing” star. Black unitard in lycra type material is an approximate size medium, and Bloch brand white canvas dance shoes are size 8.5D. Known for his breakout role in “Dirty Dancing”, Swayze was cast as dance instructor Johnny Castle for both his dancing and acting prowess, which catapulted him into Hollywood stardom. Straps to dance shoes have been cut, and small hole along seam on back of unitard. Overall in very good condition. With a COA from Lisa Niemi Swayze. Sold for $1,469.

Visible portion of photo measures 13.75” x 10.75”, framed to 20.25” square. With COA from Ken Goldin as well as sticker by Paramount Pictures on verso, copyrighted 1993. Near fine condition. ”Mary Poppins” artwork signed by its stars, Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, #6 in a limited HC edition of 15, intended for private distribution. Produced by Walt Disney Art Classics, this cel set-up entitled ”Tea Time With Mary” depicts scene 62 of the film, made from the original Disney animation drawings. Released in 1964, ”Mary Poppins” earned immediate acclaim, was nominated for 13 Academy Awards and took home five, including ”Best Picture”, ”Best Actress” for Julie Andrews and ”Best Visual Effects”; it was the only Disney film to win ”Best Picture” in Walt Disney’s lifetime. Artwork measures 17.25” x 11”, matted and framed by Disney to a size of 27” x 20.75”. With original Disney paperwork sealed in pouch on back of frame. Near fine condition. Sold for $5,000.

Captivating photo of Audrey Hepburn from ”My Fair Lady”, measuring 11” x 14”, and from Audrey’s personal collection. Photo is by Cecil Beaton, who won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design for ”My Fair Lady”, as well as for Best Art Direction, with the stamp on verso: ”Please acknowledge photograph by Cecil Beaton”. Beaton first met Hepburn after the release of ”Roman Holiday”, and was instantly taken with her charm, commenting in his diary that ”She appears to take wholesale adoration with a pinch of salt; gratitude rather than puffed-up pride…” Hepburn’s ease, with Beaton as photographer, and her natural beauty is captured nicely in this photograph. Semi-gloss silver gelatin photo on double weight paper was taken for a US Vogue photo shoot in late 1963 prior to the release of ”My Fair Lady”, one of the most highly anticipated films in Hollywood history. Photo is in near fine condition. Sold for $4,375.

Jean Harlow autograph on her photo, inscribed to film director William Wyler. Inscription reads in full: “‘Willie’ darling / Loads of love to you / from Jean.” During her lifetime, much of Harlow’s correspondence and autograph-signing duties were handled by her mother, “Mama Jean” Harlow. This, and the fact that she died at the very young age of 26, make signed items bearing her actual signature truly scarce. This is a superb example of Harlow’s autograph, vintage black and white, measuring 10″ x 13″. Minimal fading, toning, and wear. Near fine condition. Sold for $3,670.

Signed ”Jean Harlow” on a pale green autograph album page, with the verso signed by Mary Astor. Note at the bottom of the page indicates that Harlow’s autograph was obtained at the Brown Derby. Measures 4.5” x 5.5”. Minor browning to edges, overall very good plus condition. With a 4” x 6” glossy photo of Harlow’s famous bear skin rug photo included. Sold for $1,875.
