Enzo Anselmo Giuseppe Maria Ferrari Cavaliere di Gran Croce OMRI (Italian: [ˈɛntso anˈsɛlmo ferˈraːri]; 20 February 1898 – 14 August 1988) was an Italian motor racing driver and entrepreneur, the founder of the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix motor racing team, and subsequently of the Ferrari automobile marque. He was widely known as “il Commendatore” or “il Drake“. In his final years he was often referred to as “l’Ingegnere” (the Engineer) or “il Grande Vecchio (the Great Old Man)”.

World Champion Fernando Alonso 2008 Japanese Grand Prix Worn Race-Suit
Racing suit worn by Fernando Alonso in the 2008 Japanese Grand Prix in his final GP victory for Renault. Renault race-suit features Alonso’s name embroidered to the self-belt. Suit in white, blue, orange and yellow features an embroidered FIA accreditation to the back of the collar. Suit is covered in embroidered sponsor logos, most prominently Renault itself on the back with ING and Mutua Madrilena, and the front shows logos from Bridgestone, Chronotech, Elf, Pepe Jeans, Puma, Unicef and Universia. Puma brand suit features a concealed zip closure, zipping up the front behind a velcro panel with brand label sewn into panel. Tag is hand-labeled, ”Alonso / 12.10.08” in blue ink. Measures 19” across the chest with 31” inseam. Blurring to ink on label, else near fine. Originally from Formula Sport in Luxembourg. Sold for $18,750 .

Early Wilbur Shaw Racing Trophy From The Bernbach National Championship in 1924
Wilbur Shaw trophy from one of his first seasons in his racing career, when he won the Bernbach National Championship. Shaw saw this victory on 28 September 1924 in the Light Car Class at the Hawthorne Track in Chicago. Measures 14.75” in total height, with a 5.5” diameter base. Silver-plated trophy cup shows some denting and flattening to the rim, with some loss to silver plate, else good. Sold for $5,027.

Ferrari 166 Inter Brochure
Very early 1949 Ferrari 166 Inter brochure, same year that Luigi Chinetti drove the Model 166M to Ferrari’s first win in motorsports. “Modena Ferrari Italia automobili” printed in white on a black and white image of the Ferrari factory. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929 as Scuderia Ferrari, the company sponsored drivers and manufactured race cars before moving into production of street legal vehicles in 1946 as Ferrari S.p.A. Excellent piece has the Ferrari logo and stallion emblem on front. Schedule of various car show dates in Italian cities printed on back in Italian. The year “1949” written in black ink at top right corner, tiny tear at bottom right, otherwise in near fine condition. A rare brochure from the iconic Italian car manufacturer. Sold for $1,096.
