Plush silk top hat features print to the silk lining that features a Henry Heath Ltd. logo and reads, ”By Special Appointment / to His Majesty the King / Established in the reign of King George IV, 1822 / 105 to 109 Oxford St / London, W.”. Initials ”HRH” appear in gilt beneath. Accompanied by a photo of King George wearing the hat. Displayed in a mirror backed glass and wooden case upon a mahogany and cast iron stand, measuring 16” x 16” x 15”. Hat measures 5.75” in height. Wear to sweatband, else near fine. An excellent piece of King George memorabilia. Sold for $27,500.

Mary of Teck Silver Cigarette Case Given to Her Son Prince Edward in 1925
Cigarette case gifted by Mary of Teck to her son Prince Edward in 1925. Silver case features a basket weave pattern and gilt interior. An engraved line within reads, ”Darling David from Mama, God bless you, 1925”. Edward’s full name is Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David and the royal family referred to him as David. Case bears the British import marks L.C.B & Co., Ltd., 1925. Measures approximately 4.25” x 3.25” x 0.5”. Near fine. Provenance from Sotheby’s sale, The Jewels of the Duchess of Windsor, held in Geneva on 3 April 1987, lot 220. Sold for $12,183.
Mary of Teck Silver Cigarette Case Gifted to Her Son Prince Edward in 1913
Cigarette case gifted by Mary of Teck to her son Prince Edward in 1913. Silver case features an allover reeded design and gilt interior. An engraved line within reads, ”David from Mama, Xmas 1913”. Though Edward’s full name is Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David, the royal family referred to him as David. Case opens with a jewel-encrusted thumb piece to a gilt interior featuring a vesta compartment and fusee aperture. By W. Hornby, 1909. Bears British import marks L.C.B & Co., Ltd., 1925. Measures approximately 3.5” x 2.25” x 0.75”. Near fine. Provenance from Sotheby’s sale, The Jewels of the Duchess of Windsor, held in Geneva on 3 April 1987, lot 218. Sold for $12,183.

King George V and Queen Consort Mary signed copy of ”The King’s Book”, published for the 25th Silver Jubilee anniversary of King George V’s monarchy. Raphael Tuck & Sons: London: 1935. The Royal couple signs upon the fly-leaf, ”George R.I. / 1910-1935” which appears above ”Mary R” elegantly signed. Contents include: George’s 1934 Christmas address that reads in part ”…I send a special greeting to the peoples of my dominions overseas. Through them the family has become a fellowship of free nations…”; mounted black & white official portrait photos of both King and Queen; and essays on each nation governed by the United Kingdom, accompanied by beautiful mounted illustrations. Bound in red leather boards, with silver coat of arms and embossed lettering. Silver edged pages and backstrip. 35pp. book measures 9.50” x 12.25”. Portraits measure 6” x 8” and illustrations measure 6” x 8.75”. Fading to front board and bumping to corners. Wear on backstrip leather with slight tear and light foxing throughout. Overall very good condition of a captivating book. Sold for $1,892.
King George I Signed Appointment Concerning The Famous “Regiment of Invalids” — From 1719 — With JSA COA
Document signed by King George I in 1719, concerning the “Regiment of Invalids”, the 41st regiment of the British army that consisted entirely of patients who had recently been discharged from London’s Chelsea Hospital. George boldly signs “George R” to the top of the document, which appoints Benjamin Wellington, Jr. as ensign of the regiment, then commanded by Colonel Edmund Fielding. Vellum document is countersigned by James Stanhope, the first minister of England. Measures 13.5″ x 9.75″. Light red staining to upper right from where the document was presumably folded over. Otherwise in near fine condition for a vellum document of its age. With JSA COA. Sold for $862.

Queen Mary of Teck book signed. Mary’s inscription upon the front free endpaper is addressed to the author, reading, ”To Mr. B. Ambler / from / Mary R / 2nd February 1938”. Signed book is ”St. Dunstan, A Drama In Four Acts” published by Elliot Stock: London. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope from Buckingham Palace and a typed letter signed on Marlborough House stationery by Mary’s secretary to the author. Signed book runs 78pp. and measures 5.25” x7.75”. Bound in blue cloth boards with gilt lettering. Notation in ink to front free endpaper and foxing, else near fine. Sold for $188.
Queen Mary of Teck autograph letter signed, ”Victoria Mary”. Upon Marlborough House stationery, letter dated 9 October 1904 reads in part, ”Dear Lady [illegible] / Many thanks for your kind letter & for sending me the Report of the Surrey Needlework Guild. I must congratulate you on the increase of the numbers of the garments which is most satisfactory…” 3pp. on a single sheet of card-style stationery, measuring 5” x 6”. Near fine. Sold for $188.
