Mrs. Alexander (Elizabeth) Hamilton Rare Letter Signed

Influential Elizabeth Hamilton, widow of founding father Alexander Hamilton and daughter of revolutionary General Philip Schuyler, signs a short letter to President Zachary Taylor, dated 10 April 1849. She signs, “E. Sch Hamilton” on a note penned in another hand. Addressed to “The President of the United States”, the note requests “…an audience of a few minutes to my sister Mrs Cochran…” Card style note measures 5.5″ x 3.5″ with minor chipping and small burn mark on the verso. Small smudge on signature, else very good. Sold for $886.
