Dan Aykroyd & John Belushi Blues Brothers Poster Signed
The Blues Brothers are an American blues and soul revivalist band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live. Belushi and Aykroyd fronted the band, in character, respectively, as lead vocalist ‘Joliet’ Jake Blues and harmonica player/vocalist Elwood Blues. The band was composed of well-known musicians, and debuted as the musical guest in a 1978 episode of Saturday Night Live, opening the show performing “Hey Bartender”, and later “Soul Man”.
“Briefcase Full of Blues” poster to commemorate the 1978 live album by the comedic duo, which went double-platinum. Each actor signs and inscribes a personal note in red ink across his photo: “Greetings from your colleague Elwood / Dan Aykroyd” and “Joel, you’re the best / John Belushi ‘Jake'”. Poster measures 20.5″ x 20.5″ and is matted and framed to an overall size of 27.25″ x 27.25″. Also includes a copy of a caricature of Belushi done by artist Al Hirschfield measuring 20″ x 24″ and a framed black-and-white photo of both Blues Brothers in their signature glasses measuring 17″ x 14″. Near fine. Sold for $1,954.
