Sell Your Superman 1978 Movie Clapperboard

Superman (also known as Superman: The Movie) is a 1978 superhero film directed by Richard Donner and written by Mario Puzo, David Newman, Leslie Newman, and Robert Benton from a story by Puzo based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It is the first installment in the Superman film series. An international co-production between the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Panama and the United States,[3] the film stars an ensemble cast featuring Marlon Brando, Gene Hackman, Christopher Reeve, Jeff East, Margot Kidder, Glenn Ford, Phyllis Thaxter, Jackie Cooper, Trevor Howard, Marc McClure, Terence Stamp, Valerie Perrine, Ned Beatty, Jack O’Halloran, Maria Schell, and Sarah Douglas. It depicts the origin of Superman (Reeve), including his infancy as Kal-El of Krypton, son of Jor-El (Brando) and his youthful years in the rural town of Smallville. Disguised as reporter Clark Kent, he adopts a mild-mannered disposition in Metropolis and develops a romance with Lois Lane (Kidder) whilst battling the villainous Lex Luthor (Hackman).

Superman Hero Costume Worn by Christopher Reeve in the 1978 Superman Film

Very rare Superman “muscle tunic” worn by Christopher Reeve during filming of “Superman: The Movie”, the very first film of the beloved Christopher Reeve franchise, released in 1978. Tunic used in the flight scenes features two stitched holes on the sides, used to attach the flying harness. Four snaps at top are for attaching the cape. Signature blue tunic is made complete with Superman’s large emblematic gold and red “S” sewn onto the front. The original “Bermans & Nathans / 40 Camden St. / London N.W. 1” tag is still intact on the tunic’s inner back collar, next to the zipper, with the label reading in type: “CHRISTOPHER REEVE / 12312 WITH MUSCLES / SUPERMAN”. Made of special nylon fabric, used for its stretch and ability to retain its original shape. Without being stretched, tunic measures 18″ across the chest and 29″ long. A few small holes, otherwise in near fine condition. With Prop Store COA. Sold for $20,250.

George Reeves Signed Photo as Superman — The First On-Screen Portrayal of the DC Hero — With PSA/DNA COA

Excellent signed publicity photo of George Reeves dressed in his iconic Superman costume for the hit 1950’s show ”Adventures of Superman.” Reeves became the first onscreen depiction of the legendary DC comic book character in what became his seminal role. Here, Reeves inscribes the bottom right portion of the photo in blue ink: ”To Crystal / Thanks for watching / Your Friend / George Reeves”. Photo measures 8” x 10” and is in near fine condition. With PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $6,083.

Christopher Reeve Screen Worn Pinstripe Suit From The First Superman Picture in 1978 — ”Superman: The Movie”

Christopher Reeve screen worn suit from 1978’s ”Superman: The Movie”, worn, of course, as Clark Kent in the newsroom. (1-2) Grey suitjacket and pants with a blue pinstripe are by Berman’s & Nathans. The jacket’s label is typed, ”Chris Reeve / Superman”. Jacket measures 20” across the chest. Trousers are size 34 x 35, (3) light blue chambray dress shirt by Brooks Brothers in size 17-6, (4) dark grey fedora with black band by Dunn & Co. in size 7 1/4, (5) lace-up dress shoes in black leather by Alan McAfee in approximate size 11. Some tearing to trousers lining near the waistband at the seat, else near fine. Sold for $5,539.

Christopher Reeve Screen-Worn ”Superman III” Wig

Short dark brown wig worn onscreen by Christopher Reeve as Superman in “Superman III”, the third installment of DC Comics’ superhero franchise. A label within has Reeve’s name written on it, “Chris Reeve / Superman”. Wig, worn during the “Man of Steel” scenes, is parted and shows Superman’s signature tendril over the right eyebrow. Near fine. Provenance from the Hollywood A Collectors Ransom 7 auction by Profiles in History, lot 374. Sold for $1,250.

Bruce Lee Personally Owned and Used Heavy Bag

Bruce Lee owned and used heavy bag. Beige canvas heavy bag used in Lee’s revolutionary martial arts practice is stamped with brand name Atlas. Measures 39” high with a 14” diameter. Weighs 69 pounds. Moisture staining around the bottom quarter, else near fine. From the collection of Herb Jackson, whose well-documented friendship with Lee began while he trained in Jeet Kune Do at Lee’s Los Angeles martial arts academy in Chinatown. Lee, impressed with Jackson’s background in street fighting, in time befriended his student and invited him to train at his home. Just before his fateful move to Hong Kong, Lee gifted many pieces of his martial arts equipment to Jackson. With a COA from Herb Jackson’s son. Sold for $33,901.

Scarce John Wayne Cowboy Hat Worn in Six Films That Defined The Iconic Actor’s Western Career

Incredibly rare and iconic cowboy hat worn by the legendary John Wayne in six major westerns. Wayne wore the hat in the 1961 film ”The Comancheros”, the 1963 film ”McClintock!”, the 1965 film ”The Sons of Katie Elder”, the 1966 film ”El Dorado”, and the 1969 film ”The Undefeated”. Camel-colored felt cowboy hat has ”John Wayne / ‘Comancheros”’ written in black marker to underneath of front brim, with an additional ”John Wayne” written in black marker to leather sweatband, as well as ”#3” written in green pen to leather. Hat’s brim measures 16” in length and is 5” tall. Inside measures 7” in diameter. Six little holes to brim. With provenance from the Collection of John Wayne, the Collection of Chuck Roberson (the actor’s stunt double), John Hagner’s Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame, and Mecum Auctions, Santa Monica, CA, July 26-27, 2013, lot F168. Overall very good. Sold for $37,500.

Iron Man Production-Used Clapperboard

Production-used clapperboard from the 2008 blockbuster, ”Iron Man”, starring Robert Downey, Jr. as wealthy industrialist Tony Stark who builds an armored suit to fight evil. Classic clapperboard has ”Iron Man / Director: Jon Favreau / Camera Matthew Libatique ASC” printed. Nicely matted in plush red velvet with ”Clapperboard used in production of Iron Man” printed to velvet. Clapperboard measures 11” x 9.5” and is framed in a shadowbox to an overall size of 18.5” x 25”. Frame is split at lower right corner causing back of frame to become loose. Can be repaired. Else, very good. With a Movie Prop Warehouse COA. Sold for $1,875.
