Thurman Lee Munson (June 7, 1947 – August 2, 1979) was an American professional baseball catcher who played 11 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the New York Yankees, from 1969 until his death in 1979. A seven-time All-Star, Munson had a career batting average of .292 with 113 home runs and 701 runs batted in (RBIs). Known for his outstanding fielding, he won the Gold Glove Award in three consecutive years (1973–75).

New York Yankees catcher Thurman Munson 8″ x 10″ black & white photo, signed and inscribed in blue marker: “To Allan / Good Luck Always / Thurman Munson,” with “Allan” smudged, presumably by Munson’s hand. During his 1969-1979 career with the Yankees, Munson became the only Yankee ever to win both the “Rookie of the Year” and “Most Valuable Player” awards. With PSA/DNA letter of authentication. Near fine condition. Sold for $1,063.

Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autograph photograph. 5″ x 7″ black and white image depicts the two Yankee greats standing side by side on the baseball field wearing their pinstripe pants. Inscribed by Ruth in brown ink at the upper left, “For Walter from, ‘Babe’ Ruth” beside which Gehrig signs in black ink, “& Lou Gehrig”. Small .25″ tear (with no emulsion loss) at top, not affecting either signature, else fine. A difficult to acquire pairing of legendary signatures on a single photograph. A Babe Ruth signature with the quotation marks around “Babe” typifies his pre-1928 autograph and will sell at a higher value as well. Sold for $19,036.

Thurman Munson bat from his MVP season. H&B Louisville Slugger baseball bat signed by Catfish Hunter, Ken Holtzman and Thurman Munson himself. Used during Munson’s 1976 MVP season and taken directly from his locker. Signature model #M169; with fellow New York Yankee, Sandy Alomar’s uniform #2 on both ends. Measures 35″. Moderate to heavy use; uncracked. Autographs graded PSA/DNA 8 and accompanied by Letter of Authenticity. Separate PSA Certificate of Authenticity refers to Munson’s use of the bat “…It is our opinion the bat is authentic and was used by Munson and Sandy Alomar Jr. during the referencing labeling period…” A must-have for all Yankee collectors in excellent condition. One of the greatest pieces of Thurman Munson sports memorabilia ever offered. Sold for $5,830.

Additionally signed by fellow “Murderers Row” member, Lou Gehrig on adjacent panel in black ink. Ruth autograph rates PSA 6-7; Gerhrig signature rates PSA 8. Accompanied by PSA/DNA letter of authenticity certifying that the Babe Ruth autograph and the Lou Gehrig autographs are authentic. An exceptional Babe Ruth signed baseball etc. and a must-have for Yankees collectors. Sold for $18,500.

Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autograph on a baseball. On the sweet spot, Ruth’s black ink penning reveals sizable upper-case “B” and “R” characters. Gehrig signature in black ink on adjacent panel. The presence of Johnson’s facsimile signature, under which penmanship removal can be seen, coupled with the quotation marks around “Babe” (in Ruth’s own hand, of course) likely date the keepsake to 1927, as Johnson was supplanted by Barnard in 1928, the same year Ruth abandoned the use of quotation marks. The medium-toned sphere features prominent stampings and vibrant, alternating red and blue laces. Accompanied by Letters of Authenticity from PSA/DNA and James Spence Authentication attesting that the Babe Ruth autograph is authentic. Sold for $10,470.

1937 World Champion Yankees Team Signed Baseball — Including Signature by Lou Gehrig on the Sweet Spot — With JSA COA
Team signed baseball by the 1937 New York Yankees, who would win the World Series that year. Features 26 signatures, including Lou Gehrig on the sweet spot and Hall of Famers Tony Lazzeri, Charles “Red” Ruffing and Bill Dickey. Also signed by Jake Powell, Myril Hoag, Red Rolfe, Bump Hadley, Tom Henrich, George Selkirk, Johnny Murphy, Frank Makosky, Joe Glenn, Coach Johnny Schulte, Jack Saltzgaver, Paul Andrews, Kemp Wicker, Paul Schreiber, Art Jorgens, Don Heffner, Monte Pearson and Joe Vance. Four of the signatures are clubhouse: Joe DiMaggio, Lefty Gomez, Manager Joe McCarthy and Pat Malone. In good condition with overall toning to the ball, though nearly every signature still remains dark and legible. Accompanied by JSA COA, including an authentication report showing where each player signed on the ball. Sold for $2,835.
