Ayrton Senna was a Brazilian race car driver who is considered one of the top and most influential Formula One drivers of all time. He won the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship in 1988, 1990 and 1991. Senna’s racing career began with karting and transitioned to open-wheel racing before eventually getting into Formula One in 1984. He tragically died in an accident during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at age 34.
We at Nate D. Sanders Auctions sold a set of wing end plates from Ayrton Senna’s Lotus 99T, used during his years partnered with Lotus-Renault, for $5,500. Please see below for details:
Race-used pair of Ayrton Senna front wing end plates from his 1987 Lotus 99T. In this car, Senna won the 1987 Grand Prix in Monaco and Detroit and finished in the top of several other Grand Prix races that year. Plates from the Camel title-sponsored car are painted yellow with blue brand logos. Each measures 23” x 6.5” and both are mounted side by side and framed to an overall size of 52.5” x 13”. Includes the Classic Team Lotus Design and Registration Plate. In very good condition with light wear. Sold for $5,500.

Michael Schumacher Racing Suit From the 1992 German F1 Grand Prix
Michael Schumacher racing suit, worn during the 1992 German F1 Grand Prix where he placed third. Schumacher is considered the champion of Formula One racing, having won most championships, race victories, fastest laps, pole positions and most races in a single season, with F1 itself saying that he’s ”statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen.” Yellow Sparco racing suit is made of Nomex with self-belt bearing his name ”M. Schumacher” and the German flag. Suit was sold at a Scottish charity event in 1992 hosted by Alan McNish, and includes a photo of McNish standing next to the suit. Measures 58” long. Light wear, otherwise near fine. Sold for $6,250.
David Coulthard Signed and Worn West McLaren-Mercedes 1998 Formula 1 Race Suit
David Coulthard worn and signed racesuit from the West McLaren-Mercedes 1998 Formula 1, the last year of his incredible career. One-piece racsuit is signed by the 13-time Grand Prix winner in black felt tip upon the left breast beneath the Warnsteiner logo and on the left rear shoulder above the Mercedes-Benz logo. Coulthard’s name and Scottish Saltire are printed above the Velcro belt. Nomex suit by Sparco is marked on the label, ”Coulthard 5 / 98”. Suit is adorned with sponsors’ logo patches and FIA accreditation, including cigarette company branding, which has since been widely outlawed. Some wear from use, else near fine. Sold for $6,094.
