Exceptionally large 8.5/10 fountain pen signature upon an Official National League baseball with printed signature of NL President John Heydler, dating Ruth’s signature to 1934 or earlier. Clear, bold signature autograph with minimal marks on a very clean, bright ball. With COA from PSA/DNA, and auction COA from JSA attesting that the Babe Ruth signed baseball is authentic. Sold for $14,302.
New York Mets Signed 1962 Yearbook — First Year of Play in National League — 50+ Signatures Include HOFers Casey Stengel and Richie Ashburn plus Gil Hodges, Clem Labine, Don Zimmer and Joe Pignatano — With JSA COA
New York Mets Official 1962 Yearbook, their inaugural year in the National League, with more than 50 team signatures. Most signatures are on the front cover of the 8.5″ x 11″ book; many other players sign their bio pages and some sign twice. Hall of Fame manager Casey Stengel, the “ole Perfesser,” signs in pencil on his bio. HOF outfielder Richie Ashburn signs the cover and again on the photo of Flushing Meadows Stadium, the new home for the Mets 1963 season. First baseman Gil Hodges signs the photo on his bio page. Other key players Clem Labine, Don Zimmer and Joe Pignatano add their autographs to the front cover. The yearbook runs 48pp. with the content of some pages, including 7/8, 19, 23/24 and 41, duplicated. Light wear to cover with minor soiling and tape residue to interior pages and partial separation of center pages at staple binding. Overall very good. With JSA COA. Sold for $1,850.
