Sell Your 1987 China Dragon Year Gold Coin 5 oz
The Chinese Gold Panda coin was first minted in China in 1982. Each year the coin features a new design on the reverse and is issued in an uncirculated condition, similar to a proof, making it highly appealing to collectors. Unlike coins issues by the U.S. Mint, the Gold Panda doesn’t explicitly have a mintmark to identify the coin’s source, but more recently sizing and slight differences in design styles disclose the coin’s originating mint. The coin’s obverse depicts Beijing’s Temple of Heaven complex which was visited by Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for yearly ceremonies to bring a strong harvest. Following 1982, the Gold Panda also became available in fractional denominations and are available in 1 troy oz., 1/2 troy oz., 1/4 troy oz., 1/10 troy oz., and 1/20 troy oz., but as of 2016 the coins no longer state a troy weight and instead state a metric weight of 30 g, 15 g, 8 g, 3 g and 1 g.
