Huey Newton Typed Letter Signed
Rare Huey P. Newton typed letter signed on “Black Panther Party” stationery, dated 20 January 1974. Printed at top in red, black and blue: “The Black Panter Party / Central Headquarters 8501 East 14th Street / Oakland, California 94621 (415) 638-0195.” Letter, to Merv Slotnick of Mt. Pleasant, MI, reads in full, “Comrade Slotnick: Thank you for your letter. I have enclosed a copy of our recent Paper, which I hope you will read and pass on to a friend. All Power to the People, Huey P. Newton.” Lateral fold, overall fine. Sold for $931.

Martin Luther King Jr. Signed Book “Measure of a Man”
Martin Luther King, Jr. signed book, “The Measure of a Man.” Hardcover with dustjacket boldly signed to front free endpaper in ink, “Martin Luther King Jr.” Volume contains two addresses, “What is Man?,” and “The Dimensions of a Complete Life,” delivered at the first National Conference on Christian Education of the United Church of Christ, held at Purdue University in 1958. Book and jacket in very good condition. Signature, excellent. Sold for $4,037.
Malcolm X autograph letter signed from Mecca, Saudi Arabia in April 1964. Malcolm X writes to Gloria Owens, sister of Nation of Islam secretary (NOI) Maceo X Owens. Malcolm X writes, ”Greetings from the holiest and most sacred city on earth. We’ll be back in November, after completing a tour of Africa. Malcolm X”. Malcolm X wrote this letter just weeks after leaving the NOI. On his travels to Mecca, he reportedly met white people with whom he felt a kindred spirit, which gave him optimism for better race relations in the United States. Postcard measures 5.5” x 3.5”. Very good plus condition with bold handwriting. Sold for $4,028.
