The Allman Brothers Band formed in 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida. The original lineup included brothers Duane Allman and Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks and Jai Johanny “Jaimoe” Johanson. The band had released their third album in 1971, At Fillmore East, shortly before founder Duane Allman was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident. The band would continue to perform and release several albums throughout the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s. The Allman Brothers Band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.

Duane Allman Check Signed Circa Early 1970s. Sold for Over $9,000.

Lot of six checks signed by original members of The Allman Brothers Band, all from 1970 and including a scarce check signed by Duane Allman, who passed away in 1971 at the age of 24. Duane’s check is dated 5 April 1970, made out to Lipham Music Company, drawn on The Allman Bros. Band general bank account. Check measures 8.25” x 3”, in near fine condition with a bold black felt-tip signature by Duane Allman.
Additional checks include two signed by Greg Allman, one signed by Raymond Berry Oakley – who passed away in 1972, one signed by Jai Johanny Johanson, and one signed by Claude Hudson ”Butch” Trucks. All checks are drawn on Allman Bros. Band bank accounts. Checks measure 8.25” x 3”, with the exception of one Greg Allman check measuring 7.25” x 3”. Bank stamps to Oakley and Trucks checks. In very good to near fine condition, with bold handwriting on all. With Roger Epperson COA for the very rare Duane Allman signed check. Sold for $9,375.


The Jimi Hendrix Experience Autographs
Fantastic set of signatures by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, signed by all three, Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding. Hendrix inscribes the note, ”Love always to Maribeth / Stay Sweet / to an Electric lady / Jimi Hendrix”, adding two hearts and dating the signature to 16 November 1968. Mitchell additionally signs ”Best Witches / Mitch *” and Redding signs, ”love / Noel Redding xxx”.
Signatures in pencil are on a piece of ”In flight…American Airlines” stationery, where the recipient, Maribeth, was a stewardess on the band’s flight that day. They were traveling to Cincinnati, Ohio where they were performing that night. Paper measures 7.25” x 10”. Folds and some creasing, and a bit of chipping to right side, otherwise near fine condition. With a COA from Roger Epperson for all three signatures. Sold for $8,236

Bob Dylan Signed Double Album ”Blonde on Blonde”
Bob Dylan signed album, ”Blonde on Blonde”, one of rock’s first double albums released in 1966. Many consider it one of the greatest rock albums of all time, with the classic songs ”Just Like a Woman”, ”Visions of Johanna”, ”I Want You” and ”Rainy Day Women #12 & 35”. Signed by Dylan on the famous blurred focus cover. Measures 12.25” square. Signature has been authenticated by Bob Dylan’s manager and album is from the stock of the manager and Bob Dylan. Near fine condition. Sold for $6,250.

Very Scarce Jim Morrison Endorsed Check — Dated July 1969 Just After “The Miami Incident” and During Summer of Love With The Doors at Peak of Success
Jim Morrison endorsed check, signed “J Morrison” on the verso of a check from Johnson & Harband Management Account payable to James D. Morrison. Dated 18 July 1969 for $150.00 and signed on the front by Robert L. Greene. Check measures 8.5″ x 3.25″. Matted with a portrait of Morrison on stage and framed, so that both sides may be seen, to an overall size of 20″ x 18.5″. In fine condition, with cancellation stamps to body, and a bank stamp under Morrison’s endorsement. Sold for $3,066.
