Sell Your Billie Holiday Poster
The vocalist Billie Holiday came to prominence in the 1930s and is often regarded as one of the most talented jazz singers of all time. She began singing in nightclubs at around age 15 and signed her first recording contract in 1935 after being discovered by producer John Hammond. Holliday tragically passed away at age 44 due to substance abuse after a music career that spanned nearly three decades. She was awarded four Grammy Awards posthumously. The 1972 film Lady Sings the Blues, staring Diana Ross, is a biographical film about her life.
