Huang Xing was a politician, revolutionary leader and the first commander-in-chief of the Republic of China. Lovely Lacloche Freres case gifted by King Edward VIII. Rectangular case in gold tone metal features a thin horizontal striping with black enamel. Hinged case opens with a 9-diamond clasp to reveal Edward’s inscription, ”Out of sight out of mind? / Edward”. The front of the case features the applied crest of the 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars, a cavalry regiment in the British Army, decorated in green enamel. Case bears the stamp of Lacloche Freres, the French assay mark and the British import mark for 1922. Measures approximately 3.25” x 1.75” x 0.25”. Near fine. Provenance from Sotheby’s. Sold for $17,840.
Yuan Shikai Document Signed — The First Formal President of the Republic of China
Large document signed by Yuan Shikai, the first formal President of the Republic of China following the collapse of the Qing dynasty in 1912. Large formal document with calligraphic writing measures 21” x 15”. Separation starting at top, vertical fold, and light soiling to document, which has a light, flexible coating, perhaps removable (verso of document has coating peeling away at fold). Overall very good condition. Sold for $3,750.

Che Guevara Signed Photo — ”A souvenir photo to remember the resounding time / Che’
Che Guevara signed photo to his colleague Eduardo Pena. Guevara inscribes an intimate dedication to his friend, ”A Eduardo Pena / como memoria inboprable [or imborrable] del momento rotundo con recuerdo fotografico / Che”, translating to, ”To Eduardo Pena / A souvenir photo to remember the resounding time / Che”. With ”Laboratorio / Articolor” stamped to verso, photo measures 9.75” x 7.75”. Small bend to lower left, light creasing and fading to photo. Overall very good condition with bold handwriting and signature. Sold for $3,125.
