Here is a 1968 Orange Groove Dance poster we have sold in the past:
1968 Orange Groove Dance Concert Uncut Poster
Robert “Bob” Samuel Fried was born April 7th, 1937 in Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY. Bob was a freelance graphic artist and poster designer. He got involved with the Bay Area’s now-famous rock poster art scene. Fried turned his attention to fine art with a focus on lithography and printmaking after the rock scene slowed down.
Colorful 1968 first printing poster of the Orange Groove Dance Concert, the more desirable uncut, larger version by Bob Fried with the additional credit of “The Food” along the bottom white margin, and with thin printer’s strike marks. Poster advertises the rock festival at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California in the fall of 1968, and is one of the more famous rock posters of the late 60s, featured in “The Art of Rock” as plate 3.64. Poster measures 23.125″ x 29″. Pinholes at corners, and some light wear mostly confined to margins, able to be framed out. Overall very good condition with still vibrant colors. Sold for $1,300.
