Sell Your 1952 Topps Ed Mathews #407 PSA 6
Here is a 1952 Topps Ed Mathews 407 PSA 6 baseball card we have sold in the past:
1952 Topps Ed Mathews #407 PSA 6
This is the last card in the 1952 Topps set and the only recognized rookie card of slugging third baseman Eddie Mathews. If the last card in the 1952 Topps set featured an average player, it would be special simply due to the inherent difficulty of the card. Since it features a member of The 500 Home Run Club and one half of the most prolific home run duo of all time, the card is extraordinary. No, that duo wasn’t Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth; it was Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews. In 1952, Mathews debuted with 25 home runs, but his encore was even better. With only one year under his belt, Mathews pounded 47 homers, hit .302, drove in 135 runs and was named runner-up in the NL MVP voting. This nine-time All-Star led the league in homers twice and hit 30 or more home runs in nine consecutive seasons en route to his Hall of Fame induction in 1978. Since Bowman did not include Mathews in their 1952 offering, all the focus turns to this card – a card that is very tough to find centered since it was located near the bottom corner of the sheet. Sold for $3,500.
