Tony Canadeo was a professional American football player who was a halfback and later running back for the Green Bay Packers between 1941 through 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army during World War II and missed the games in 1943 and 1944 as well as the entire 1945 season. Canadeo retired from his playing career in 1952 as the all-time rushing yards leader for the Packers and has since been eclipsed by Ahman Green, Jim Taylor and John Brockington. He later worked as a color commentator for CBS and was also a member of the Packers Board of Directors and Executive Committee during Vince Lombardi’s tenure as head coach. Canadeo has been elected to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
