Sell Your 1939 Play Ball Tommy Bridges #104 PSA 9
Tommy Bridges was an MLB pitcher who played with the Detroit Tigers throughout his entire career between 1930 through 1946. His most notable achievement during his time with Detroit was his three consecutive 20 plus win seasons from 1934 to 1936 and leading the American League with 23 wins in 1936. He was also the strikeout league leader in 1935 and 1936. He would continue to have success with Detroit until 1944 when he missed the season and part of the 1945 season due to his service in the U.S. Army during WWII. Bridges was sent to the minor leagues in 1946 due to an alcohol problem he developed during WWII and played for the Portland Beavers for four seasons. Following his playing career he was a coach and scout for the Cincinnati Reds and also was a scout for the New York Mets.
