Original program from the 1927 World Series, which pitted the New York Yankees against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The victorious 1927 Yankees are considered by many as Baseball’s greatest team. Softcover program features unused scorecard and individual photos of both teams’ members, including shots of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig as players at the height of both their careers. With this win, the Yankees set a record as the first American League team to sweep a National League rival. 20pp. program measures 9.25” x 11”. Staining to lower edge affecting first few pages. Surface loss to back cover, toning, creasing and separation of the first few pages from base of spine. Historic program is in very good condition overall. Sold for $1,220.

Vintage pearl-finish black and white photo of Ty Cobb leaping into the air. Signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To Jules From Ty Cobb.” 4″ x 5.5″ photograph has clipped corners and lightly trimmed edges, scattered creases, minor brushes to signature and inscription and adhesive remnants to verso. Overall in very good condition. Sold for $2,000.

Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Autograph 5″ x 7″ Pre-1928 Photo in Yankee Pinstripes and Wearing Baseball Mitts
Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autograph photograph. 5″ x 7″ black and white image depicts the two Yankee greats standing side by side on the baseball field wearing their pinstripe pants. Inscribed by Ruth in brown ink at the upper left, “For Walter from, ‘Babe’ Ruth” beside which Gehrig signs in black ink, “& Lou Gehrig”. Small .25″ tear (with no emulsion loss) at top, not affecting either signature, else fine. A difficult to acquire pairing of legendary signatures on a single photograph. A Babe Ruth signature with the quotation marks around “Babe” typifies his pre-1928 autograph and will sell at a higher value as well. Sold for $19,036.
