Incredibly scarce Cy Young single-signed baseball, where Young signs his name and also “814 – 511” designating the number of games he had started (814) and the number won (511). The date of 2 May 1950 also appears on the ball, in much lighter ink, which may have been the day that Young signed the ball; the name Cy Young is also written on the ball in another hand. Ball is encapsulated in a sealed PSA/DNA ball holder with grade. The signature has been graded a 6 out of 10 and the overall ball and autograph together; a 4. One of the scarcest and desirable Cy Young signed baseballs ever to appear on the market. Sold for $15,732.
Exceedingly Rare 1956 World Series Championship Ring Owned by Yankees Pitcher Tom Sturdivant — 14K Gold With Large Diamond — With LOA From Sturdivant’s Wife
Scarce Tom Sturdivant 1956 Yankees World Series Championship ring, with a letter of authenticity from Mrs. Elaine Sturdivant. Ring commemorates the Yankees’ prowess on the field that year, including Sturdivant’s complete game that he pitched to defeat the Brooklyn Dodgers 6-2 in Game 4 of the 1956 World Series. Ring features an approximately 3/4 ct. diamond in the center and the Yankees emblem on each of its sides, with “1956” cut into the gold. The inside of the ring shows the legendary player’s full name “Thomas V. Sturdivant” in the band. Near fine condition. Sold for $19,000.

Young signs in blue ink across the width of the 3.5″ x 5.5″ card: “Cy Young”. During his 22-year baseball career, Young established numerous pitching records, some of which have stood for a century. In 1956 the “Cy Young Award” was created to honor the previous season’s best pitcher. The postcard shows minor toning and five small pin holes puncture the top, else very good condition.
