The NGC’s grading system utilizes the Sheldon scale ranging from 1 to 70, where a coin with a score of 70 in theory is worth 70 times more than one graded a 1. A coin is view by at least two graders during their grading process. To minimize conflict of interest the NGC’s employees are not permitted to commercially buy or sell coins.
